| dc.description | The present article examines certain cases that highlight the limits of the absolute freedom of the press and how the contradictions of the radical project imposed certain conditions on the work of printers in Antioquia, between 1864 and 1879. The case of Silvestre Balcázar makes it possible to appreciate how social censure was used as a containment strategy against publications that could not conform to the conservative hegemony. As for the case of Nazario Pineda, it shows how risky it was to keep a satirical newspaper going in a context where local government took advantage of institutional powers to forcibly restrict the press. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Este artículo analiza ciertos casos que muestran los límites de la absoluta libertad de imprenta y la forma en la que las contradicciones del proyecto radical condicionaron la labor de los impresores en Antioquia, entre 1864 y 1879. El caso de Silvestre Balcázar permite apreciar la reprobación social como estrategia de contención de las publicaciones que no compaginaban con la hegemonía conservadora. Por su parte, el de Nazario Pineda demuestra los riesgos de mantener un periódico satírico en un contexto dónde el gobierno local se valió de la fuerza institucional para restringir lo impreso. | es_ES |
