dc.descriptionThe social configuration and the legal system have limited the presence of women in the teaching and management staff of the Central University of Ecuador from the 2010-2010 academic period until the 2019-2020 academic period. On the other hand, the social-feminist movements and women’s collectives have raised theses claiming the right of women to participate and be part of educational spaces under conditions of equality and non-discrimination. This work objective was to investigate why the number of women at the Central University of Ecuador has increased. The methodology used was the quali-quantitative approach that allowed statistical data analysis from twenty academic periods of the Faculties of Medical Sciences, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Jurisprudence, Political and Social Sciences, and Philosophy.en_US
dc.description.abstractLa configuración social y el ordenamiento jurídico han limitado la presencia de las mujeres en la planta docente y directiva de la Universidad Central del Ecuador desde el período académico 2010-2010 hasta el 2019-2020. Los movimientos sociales feministas y los colectivos gremiales de mujeres enarbolan tesis reivindicativas en cuanto al derecho de las mujeres a participar y formar parte de los espacios educativos en condiciones de igualdad y no discriminación. El objetivo de este artículo fue la indagación del motivo por el que se ha generado un incremento de mujeres en la Universidad Central del Ecuador. La metodología empleada fue un enfoque mixto cualitativo y cuantitativo, que permitió analizar datos estadísticos de veinte períodos académicos de las facultades de Ciencias Médicas; Ingeniería y Ciencias Aplicadas; Jurisprudencia, Ciencias Políticas y Sociales; y Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación.es_ES
