| dc.description | The political situation in the Middle East, the reemergence of the fundamentalist terrorism and the ethnic and cultural tensions in the changing European demographic map seems to confirm Samuel Huntington’s vision of the clash of civilizations and his political realist perspective of international relations. To what appears to be an unavoidable and discouraging scene, this paper pretends to demonstrate that the seemingly lack of solutions, answers to a western scope ming the humanistic studies that, for more than a century, have tried to find clashing and converging points between the western worldview and those with which it has disputed civilization spaces. Authors like Mircea Eliade, perhaps the most relevant historian of religions of the twentieth century, have generated a prodigious amount of supplies that, from an interdisciplinary and humanistic perspective, could give new answers to the contemporary debate about the clash and dialogue among civilizations. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | La situación política en el Medio Oriente, el resurgir del terrorismo fundamentalista y las tensiones étnico-culturales en el cambiante mapa demográfico europeo parecen confirmar la visión del choque de civilizaciones de Samuel Huntington y su perspectiva política realista de las relaciones internacionales. Ante lo que parece ser un panorama inevitable y desalentador, este trabajo pretende demostrar que la aparente falta de respuestas responde a una visión occidental centrada en la geopolítica y la lucha por el control de los recursos naturales, que desestiman los estudios humanísticos realizados desde hace más de un siglo, que han tratado de encontrar puntos de choque y convergencia entre la cosmovisión occidental y aquellas con las que ha disputado espacios civilizatorios. Autores como Mircea Eliade, quizá el más relevante historiador de las religiones del siglo XX, han generado una ingente cantidad de insumos que, desde una perspectiva interdisciplinar y humanista, podrían dar nuevas respuestas al debate actual sobre el choque y diálogo entre civilizaciones. | es_ES |
