| dc.description | From the urban history and geohistory approach, this article analyzes spatial segregation in Ambato, between 1943-1961. The study argues that the regulatory plan implemented after the earthquake sought the city’s reconstruction and also influenced in the consolidation of pre-existing social exclusion dynamics. Through the study of this brief seismic event in a longer-term process, the study concludes that land-use planning strategies reinforced spatial inequalities instead of mitigating them. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Desde la perspectiva de la historia urbana y la geohistoria, este artículo analiza la segregación espacial en Ambato, entre 1943-1961. El estudio plantea que el plan regulador implementado después del terremoto, procuraba la reconstrucción de la ciudad y también influyó en la consolidación de las dinámicas de exclusión social preexistentes. Mediante el estudio de este evento telúrico de corta duración en un proceso de más largo aliento, se concluye que las estrategias de ordenamiento territorial reforzaron las desigualdaes espaciales, en lugar de mitigarlas. | es_ES |
